Ground Squirrel

However you arrive, Barr Trail and Barr Camp are open year round to welcome you. Picnic tables, indoor seating, clean restrooms, and great scenery provided free of charge. Snacks, hot drinks and merchandise are available for purchase.

We are open from 7am - 7pm. Please do not come to deck outside these hours as the deck is very noisy to our guests inside the cabin. If you need to be in the camp please be courteous.

Drinking water is NOT available at Barr Camp. There is a stream at the camp from which you can treat or filter your own water.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in camp as long as they are under control at all times. Please do not allow your dogs inside the main cabin or bunkhouse. Please leash your dog. If you plan to stay the night at Barr Camp with your dog, you need to rent a lean-to shelter, the upper cabin or tent camp. Please clean up after your dog.

EMERGENCY - If you are concerned about a hiker or need assistance on the mountain please call 911 or the El Paso County Sheriff at 719-390-5555.
