About the Caretakers

Mike and Annabelle stepped in as Barr Camp caretakers in March 2026, bringing 25 years of experience in outdoor education and recreation. Their background ranges from hosting at a Colorado lodge and guiding wilderness backpacking, canoeing and sea kayaking expeditions.

Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, their lifelong passion for the outdoors began among the remote lakes and rivers of northern Minnesota and Canada. While their roots are in the North, the Rocky Mountains have always held a special draw for them.

Now settled at Barr Camp, they are dedicated to fostering a welcoming community for fellow enthusiasts through warm hospitality and meticulous facility care.
